Moving has a way of revealing how much useful stuff we no longer use. A chair, a lamp, or a set of dishes might still have plenty of life left.
Start before the last packing day. Make separate groups for things to keep, offer to someone else, donate, recycle, and dispose of properly. Take clear photos and arrange pickup while there is still time to change plans.
Before driving to a donation location, check what it accepts and when it accepts it. Use the City of Davis reuse resources for local options and current disposal guidance. An item left outdoors is not automatically yours to take; get permission and respect access rules.
I like a move that makes room for the next chapter while keeping useful things in circulation. One shelf or cupboard is enough for a first step.
