Before touring, talk about representation

Know the services, compensation, and commitments before you sign.

A good home search starts with a clear working relationship. Before we arrange tours, let’s discuss what representation includes and read the agreement together.

Ask what services are included, how compensation is calculated, when it is due, how long the agreement lasts, and what options you have if your plans change. Keep a copy of what you sign.

California DRE explains that commissions are negotiable; there is no standard rate. A seller’s contribution toward a buyer’s agent compensation can be negotiated, but it is not guaranteed. Understand your own obligations before making an offer.

My goal is for you to understand the choices and feel comfortable asking questions. We can take the time to work through the documents before moving ahead.

Bring your question.

Let’s talk about what this means for your home and plans.
